Ekko Partners will focus on complex projects, such as mergers, restructurings, and crisis management, for clients with operations in Brazil and Latin America

Recently, Ekko Partners, a consultancy specializing in business transformation focused on managing large-scale projects in Brazil and Latin America, was founded. The company’s founding partners are Ivan Apsan, Nilson Exel, and Khoury Ashooh, who have extensive experience as senior executives in Brazilian and international companies.

The partners at Ekko emphasize that many regional companies are undergoing significant transformations, either to restructure and face the current scenario or to expand their businesses.

Ekko proposes to act as a management partner for its clients in all aspects of these projects, from strategy development to results delivery. The company’s partners have a track record of operations, from mergers and acquisitions to managing special situations, including crisis management involving multiple stakeholders.

Ivan Apsan, with a background in law and specialization in crisis management, has experience in companies in the telecommunications, cement, mining, and cellulose sectors. He played a vital role in the restructuring of Paranapanema, including renegotiating a significant debt. More recently, as the legal and institutional relations director at BHP, he managed the crisis resulting from the rupture of the Samarco dam in Mariana, Minas Gerais.

Nilson Exel played a significant role in expanding shopping centers, real estate development, and hotels at JHSF, where he served as CFO. He also contributed to consolidating the renewable energy sector at Raízen through acquisitions.

Khoury Ashooh, of American nationality, specializes in team development and management. His global career included positions at the headhunting company Heidrick & Struggles and in the management team of Antofagasta Minerals, one of the largest mining companies in Chile.

Ekko Partners already has an international presence, with Ivan Apsan in London, Nilson Exel in São Paulo, and Khoury Ashooh in Santiago, Chile. The partners describe the company as a “strategic PMO as a service,” working in partnership with its clients and relying on a multidisciplinary team.
